Cardiovascular Systems, inc. (CSI) Under Construction

Over the last couple of months construction has begun on a new office building in New Brighton Exchange.  Located on the east side of Old Highway 8 NW, on blocks referred to as A and F, construction began on a 125,000 SF corporate headquarters building for CSI.  CSI manufactures the Diamond Back 360, which is a device used to treat cardiovascular disease above the waist, and since FDA approval the company has been growing rapidly.  The building under construction in New Brighton Exchange would sit on 10 acres of land and could accommodate up to 500 jobs.  CSI hopes to occupy a portion of the building in December 2014, with construction complete and full occupancy coming in March 2015.

APi Group to Build 2nd Building

APi Group, Inc. constructed its corporate headquarters in New Brighton Exchange in 2007.  APi is the parent company to 38 fire protection, industrial, and specialty construction companies located throughout North America and the United Kingdom.  In early spring 2014, the company entered into a Private Contract for Redevelopment with the City to build a 2nd building in New Brighton Exchange, located just north of their current headquarters on block G.  In July, land use approvals were secured for construction of a 3-story, 45,000 SF training center and office building.  The building is proposed to match the headquarters and the deal includes an option to build a 3rd building.  With a 2nd building, and possibly a 3rd, APi is set to create a corporate campus environment in New Brighton Exchange.  The City and APi anticipate closing on the two acre parcel by the end of September.  APi plans to start earth work and underground utility construction in the fall of 2014, with building construction commencing in spring 2015 and full completion by December 31, 2015.

Ryan Companies & Colliers International Involved
The City has partnered with Ryan Companies and Colliers International, who will act as the master developer and broker respectively for New Brighton Exchange. A conceptual site plan has been prepared, providing a glimpse of how New Brighton Exchange could be developed with five or six additional commercial buildings, as well as a mixed use development, on the east side of Old Highway 8 NW. Development opportunities exist with visibility on both Interstates 694 and 35W.
